After Amber Alert, Child Found Safe

On May 5th, 2021 at approximately 5:15 a.m., Officers of the Garden City Police Department were dispatched to 4101 E Hwy 50 Lot 379 in reference to a kidnapping. Through the initial investigation it was determined that a 14-month-old boy was inside a 2011 White Chevy Tahoe that was stolen from the driveway of the residence.

An immediate response to locate the vehicle and child was conducted with the assistance Finney County Sheriff’s Office, Kansas Highway Patrol and Kansas Bureau of Investigation. The child and vehicle were found in the area of 4200 Nancy, when an individual observed a vehicle matching the description from the Amber Alert. The child was not injured, and the suspect has not been located and the investigation is ongoing.
