City of Liberal Recipient of Solid Waste Reduction Grant

12 individual grants distributed to recipients across Kansas

 

TOPEKA – The Kansas Department of Health and Environment’s (KDHE) Bureau of Waste Management has announced the recipients of solid waste reduction grants. These annual solid waste grants are awarded to cities, counties and private entities across the state. The grants total nearly $190,000 for 2021 and establish recycling, composting and education programs that will divert recyclable material from landfills.

The Solid Waste reduction grants go toward funding waste reduction education, recycling and composting. This year’s 12 individual solid waste reduction grants range from $1,414.16 to $56,250. The grants are funded through a $1/ton waste disposal fee. The grantees are listed below. For information about their projects and dollar amounts awarded, please visit our website.
