Seward County Response to Gov. Kelly Mask Order, Seeks Input

Joe Denoyer - June 29, 2020 10:01 pm

The Board of County Commissioners for Seward County is aware of Governor Kelly’s announcement this afternoon regarding a state-wide mandate to wear masks. There are more questions than answers right now, but we are working to be in a position to respond if we need to. We will likely discuss this development at our special meeting Wednesday morning, which had already been set for other business. There likely won’t be action taken at that meeting on the mask issue.

Our county counsel has been directed to review the new law relating to Executive Orders and a process for local authority review. There could be another special meeting set Thursday to review the Executive Order after it has been released.

Citizens who would like to submit feedback on this issue can use the Covid-19 response email [email protected] or contact their commissioner
