Confirmed Case of COVID-19 at Pioneer Manor in Hugoton

Joe Denoyer - June 9, 2020 1:56 pm

On Tuesday morning June 9, 2020 the Stevens County Health Department (SCHD) confirmed that Pioneer Manor in Hugoton, Kansas has one resident who tested positive for COVID-19 (Coronavirus). The Stevens County Emergency Management has requested assistance from the Kansas National Guard (KNG), through the State Emergency Operation Center, to assist with rapid testing of all residents. Currently, all members of the affected household and agency staff have been screened for COVID-19. After the tests are preformed and the results are in, the SCHD will perform contact tracing on all the positive cases to help limit the further spread of COVID-19.

The Stevens County Health Department recommends everyone continue to practice good hand hygiene, wear masks in public, practice social distancing and limit close personal interactions.
If you are experiencing symptoms such as cough, headache, runny nose, fever, other respiratory problems, or changes in taste or smell call your healthcare provider first to determine if testing is needed.
