Joe Denoyer - May 13, 2020 10:19 am

Clay Witt was approved by the Tyrone Board of Education to be the new Principal of Tyrone High School for the 2020-2021 school year.
The vote to hire Witt, who currently serves as the science teacher and head boys basketball was unanimous.
Witt will fill the position and work alongside longtime principal Donovan Smith. Smith will remain on and serve as the Elementary Principal and Technology Director.
Mr. Witt has been the Tyrone science teacher and boys basketball coach since August of 2009. During his time at Tyrone Clay has shown great leadership and professionalism.

Superintendent Josh Bell stated “I am certain that he will be a dedicated leader with vision and commitment to the students, their families, and the staff of Tyrone High School. Witt has learned a great deal about leading a building and he will no doubt succeed in building a staff community dedicated to professional growth, instructional excellence, and the social and emotional wellness of our students. Over the years Clay has articulated a vision that endorses the team approach, and provides multiple opportunities for exploration and growth during the critical years of childrens lives. Please help us in welcoming Mr. Witt into his new role as principal of Tyrone High School.”
