The USD 480 Board Meets, Approves Camera Purchases

The USD 480 Board of Education met Monday evening for their regular meeting. After hearing reports from administration regarding the progress of the District concerning the progress to continue educating the District Students, the Board approved the purchase of 126 cameras from Tek Style in the amount of $205,285.50.

The Board also approved the bid of French Construction in the amount of $839,793.00 with a completion date of October 5th, 2020 to convert the kitchens at Cottonwood and Sunflower to full cook kitchens.
French Construction could finish sooner If allowed to start March 24th with a completion date of September 1st, 2020.

A Resolution was approved regarding graduation requirements for the Class of 2020. It reads: Be it resolved that all credit requirements above and beyond those minimum required credits set by the Kansas State Department of Education, which are contained in Board of Education Policy IHF, adopted in 1997 (revised 2016), be suspended for the graduating class of 2020. Students must meet all standards set out in K.A.R. 91-31-35, unless otherwise modified by the Kansas State Board of Education or the Kansas State Department of Education, to qualify for graduation in May 2020.

Also the Board has voted to authorize continued wage payments to all regular employees, including regular salaried and hourly employees and employees under current contract with the board who are instructed not to report to work on days they would otherwise be required to be working during an emergency closing.
