71st Annual Pancake Day Festivities Kick Off This Weekend

The 71st Annual International Pancake Day Festivities will Kick-Off this Saturday morning with the Eating and Flipping Competitions. Registration will begin at 9:00am inside the Randall Girls, Scout Building, with the contests starting at 10:00am. Concurrently, Pancake Day merchandise will also availble from 10:00-12:00 noon. At 1:00pm the Liberal Recreation Department’s “Pancake Chase 5 & 10K runs will be held at the Pancake Day Hall of Fame at 318 N. Lincoln.

On Sunday afternoon, and new to Pancake Day, the Liberal Area Coalition will host a Pancake Day Carnival at the Seward County Activity Center from 3:00pm-5:00pm. Entry fee is $1.00. Pancake day Merchandise will also be available.

Monday, by invitation only, the Baker Arts Center will host the Grand Marshall’s Reception.

On Pancake Day, Tuesday February 25th, activities will begin at 6:00am at the Activity Center with the Breakfast hosted by the Noon Kiwanis. The Breakfast will wrap up at 10:00am with the Breakfast Prorgam at 7:30am

Youth races will start at 10:30am with a newly added Mascot Race at 11:30am, followed by the Men’s Pacer Race at 11:40am and the International Race at 11:55am.

The Ministerial Alliance sponsored Shriving Service begins at 12:15pm at the First United Methodist Church, followed by the Live Video Conference Call to Olney England.

The Liberal Rotary Club is once again sponsoring thr Pancake Day Parade at 3:00pm. The parade will run from 11th Street to Trail Street.
