Liberal City Commission Meets, Approves the Creation of Asst. City Manager Position

The Liberal City Commission met Tuesday evening at 5:30 and began the meeting with an Executive Session. Once the Public meeting began, Commissioners approved the creation of an Assistant City Managers position. The position would be part time, as needed position, and perform the duties of the City Manager in his/her absence. The Assistant City Manager would be protected from political fallout.The position would be filled or terminated by the City Manager.

The property at 16 W. 10th Street was again before the Commission and received final approval for demolition of the property as it has been deemed unsafe.

The City Commission approved the Crack and Chip seal project for 2020 with B&H Paving of Scott City in the amount of $346, 110.00, and also approved the Project Engineering agreement with Earles Engineering for the KC Park & Hike & Bike Trail in the amount. $29,842.00

Computer Hardware upgrades were also approved in the amount of $74,521.16, and the Police Department request to purchase a 2010 Harley Davidson Road King from the Hutchinson Police Department for $9,000 died for lack of a motion.
