Liberal City Commission Meets, Seigrist and Harden continue as Mayor and Vice-Mayor

The Liberal City Commission met Tuesday evening at 5:30pm and selected Connie Seigrist as Mayor and Taylor Harden as Vice Mayor for the upcoming year.

Commissioners  reviewed and accepted the best bid from Commerce Bank for the 2020 Series GO Bonds Bond. The principal amount of the bonds is $835,000. Commissioners approved the demolition of a property at 16 W. 10th Street and the removal of a trailer and cleanup of property at 514 S. Oklahoma Street.

They City Commissioners approved the City Attorney Independent Contract Agreement with Lynn Koehn, and a project agreement for the KC Hike and Bike Trail including playground equipment. Appointed to the Convention and Visitors Bureau Advisory Board was Enrique Weissel.

South Middle School/Rec Center improvements were approved by the Commission. They include a sprinkler system not to exceed $60,000 and batting cages in an amount not to exceed $20,000.

In an added agenda item, the Commission approved $10,000 for bullpens at the National Beef Baseball Fields.
