Timothy (Tim) Russell Geary, 67, passed away on October 18, 2026. Tim was a man of few words, but his strength, determination, and unwavering grit spoke volumes. He lived life on his own terms, stood firmly in his beliefs, and never backed down from what he felt was right.
A skilled craftsman with an exceptional work ethic, Tim built a successful welding business through dedication, perseverance, and the pride he took in providing for his family. He believed in honest work, keeping his word, and doing things the right way.
An avid outdoorsman, Tim had a deep passion for hunting, firearms, and shooting. He valued independence, hard work, and the satisfaction of working with his hands.
Though fiercely independent, Tim was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need. He was the kind of man who would shoulder his own struggles rather than burden another, yet never hesitate to help someone else carry theirs. His generosity was found not in grand gestures or many words, but in his actions.
Above all, Tim cherished his family’s history and legacy. Loyalty, family honor, and lifelong friendships were values he held close. Strong-willed, steadfast, and unapologetically himself, Tim left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Elizabeth (Nutter) Geary and Russell Perry Geary; his brothers, David Geary and James Geary; his sister, Katherine “Kay” Rowbotham; and his nephew, Philip Geary.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Margaret Geary, wife of his late brother James; his nieces and nephews, Jacqueline “Jackie” Geary, Daphne Geary, Brandon Johnson, Cody Treadwell, Casey Rowbotham, and Cristin Peters; and Devon Geary, surviving wife of his nephew Philip. He also leaves behind extended family and dear friends.
Tim’s legacy is one of strength, loyalty, generosity, and a life lived on his own terms. He may have been a man of few words, but his actions spoke louder than words ever could. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of Tim’s life will be held during the summer of 2027, bringing family and friends together to honor his memory and the legacy he leaves behind. Additional details regarding the date, time, and location will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to Tim Geary Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 715, Johnson, KS 67855. Condolences may be posted at www.garnandfuneralhomes.com.
