The Seward County Commission met on Monday evening and after hearing reports from Mary Rose on the Tax Recovery/Tax Sale an d Kirkham Michael, approved an agreement with Kirkham Michael for the biennial bridge inspections. Seward County has six (6) bridges to be inspected and data entered to be into KDOT’s approved software. Cost is $3,960.
The Commission gave approval to purchase 2 dump trucks with snow plows from the Kansas Department of Transportation. A 2007 International 7400 with 117,000 miles for the price of $21,000 and a 2009 Sterling LT 7500 with 146,000 miles for the price of $29,000. Both are to be paid from the Road & Bridge 210 account as they received a $62,000 check from insurance for a truck that was rolled and totaled. Also approved for Road and Bridge was a pothole patcher.
Seward County EMS received a donation from Air Products in the amount of $3,000 to be used for EMS Operations and Equipment. Commissioners approved the acceptance of that check.
The Board of County Commissioners approved the addition of the Reserve Firefighter II job classification and authorized Human Resources to work with the Fire Department to finalize the job description and classification requirements.
The Commission tabled the lease buyout option for the SBA Tower Site.
