The Liberal City Commission met on Tuesday evening and after hearing from Liberal Fire Chief, took no action on banning sale and discharging of fireworks in the City. So as of June 9th, it is ok to sell and discharge fireworks as per City Ordinance . The Fire Chief will continue to monitor the weather and could make changes as needed.

Commissioners then amended the Traffic Safety Board. The changes reduce the number of board members from seven to five and will now meet quarterly rather than monthly.

Approved was the purchase of 2 Grasshopper Mowers from Grasshopper Mowers out of Moundridge, Kansas for an amount not to exceed $27,000.00 and approved Southern Pioneer Electric to bring 3-phase power to Well 27 for an amount not to exceed $56,000.

The Commission also appointed Jose Rodriguez and Jahir Escalante to the Liberal Memorial Library Board
