Rattlers Split at Dodge City

The Liberal Rattlers split a pair at Dodge City against the A’s Thursday night. The A’s won the first game 8-3 and the Rattlers took the second game 6-1.

In game one, the A’s led 5-0 before the Rattlers scored in the the fifth. Dodge added three in the sixth to lead 8-1 before the Rattlers scored two in the second. Dodge City out-hit Liberal 7-3. Manny Mendoza drove home two runs and hit a double in the loss.

In game two, DC took another lead scoring one in the first. The Rattlers scored two in the fourth, two in the fifth, and two in the seventh. Liberal out-hit the A’s 8-2. Liberal did not commit an error. Hayden Pendergraft pitched four strong innings allowing one run with three strikeouts and one walk. Manny Mendoza worked three scoreless innings with five strikeouts and two walks. Austin Dodge went 2-3 with two RBI’s. Eddie Moreno was 2-3.

The Rattlers are 2-3. They play at the 16U Finney County Blues on Wednesday.
