Zyliah Strickland of Texhoma Awarded Golden Spread Directors’ Memorial Scholarship

Golden Spread Electric Cooperative and TCEC are proud to announce that Zyliah Strickland of Texhoma has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious Golden Spread Directors’ Memorial Scholarship.

Golden Spread Electric Cooperative, a not-for-profit generation and transmission cooperative organized in 1984, provides low-cost, reliable electric power and energy to its 16 Member cooperatives, including TCEC.

The Directors’ Memorial Scholarship was established in 1991 to honor former Golden Spread Directors who demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing rural electrification. The fund is supported by annual contributions from Golden Spread, as well as additional gifts made in memory or honor of past board members.

The scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors who are member-consumers of one of Golden Spread’s 16 Member cooperatives and plan to attend an accredited college, university, or technical/trade school in Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, or Texas the following fall.

Since the first scholarship was awarded in 1995, more than $208,000 has been distributed to 152 recipients, helping support students’ educational goals across the region.
