Two women from Borger Texas died after their vehicle was rear-ended and subsequently engulfed in fire on HWY 136, two miles outside of Guymon.

The crash happened at 12:30 am Saturday morning on HWY 136 and Road Y, causing the road to be closed for over four hours.

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the collision happened when a vehicle driven by Israel Morales,19, ran into the rear of a vehicle driven by Maria Fernandez, 52.

Fernandez and her passenger, Maria Villanueva De Fernandez, 78, both died as a result of the crash. Both women were from Borger, Texas.

Morales is from Texhoma and OHP says he was not injured.

The crash is under investigation.
