Virginia Mendoza, age 67, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026. She was born on May 17, 1958, in Brownfield, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of Antonio and Celia (Rodriguez) Longoria.

A woman of deep and abiding faith, she loved Jesus wholeheartedly and lived her life in devotion to Him. Her greatest joy was being a mother to her seven children and a loving wife. She was known for her kindness, humor, intelligence, wisdom, and quiet strength.

Virginia had a remarkable gift for knowing others deeply and offering exactly what they needed in moments of joy or hardship. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue in the lives of all the many who loved her.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Abel Mendoza; her children, Sarah Hall, Bobby Mendoza, Sabrina Del Fierro, Raymond Mendoza, Abel Jr. Mendoza, Stephanie Mendoza-Allen, and Samantha Haddox; her mother, Celia Longoria;  along with her grandchildren, Victor Jr. Del Fierro, Alicia Del Fierro, Marcos Del Fierro, Brayden Sena, Roman Sena, Isabella Sena, Kaylee Mendoza, Azlee Grace Mendoza, Peyton Haddox, and Olivia Hall; She is also survived by her great-grandchild, Victor Hugo Del Fierro III, with another great-grandchild expected in December 2026; brothers, Israel Longoria, and Antonio Longoria, Jr.; and sister, Anna Garcia.

She is preceded in death by her father, Antonio Longoria.

Funeral Service will be Friday, April 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel, Ulysses, Kansas, with Deacon Apolonio Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery.
