LHS Softball Drops Two at Kingman

The Liberal softball team traveled to Kingman and played a pair on Saturday.  Liberal lost to the Halstead Dragons 16-6  and lost to the Kingman Eagles 15-5.

In the game with Halstead, the Dragons scored 16 runs on 11 hits.  Liberal scored six runs on eight hits.  The Redskins committed seven errors and Halstead did not have an error.  Liberal pitched walked 11 batters and Halstead walked three.  Halstead scored three in the first before LHS plated two.  Halstead scored four in the second and third while LHS scored two in the second and the third as the Dragons led 11-6 after three.  Halstead scored two in the fourth and three in the sixth for the run rule.  Haiden Lyon and Allie Champion had two hits a piece.

In game two against Kingman, the Eagles had 15 runs on 11 hits and no errors.  Liberal had five runs on six hits and five errors.  Kingman led 7-2 after two before Liberal scored three in the third to make it 7-5.  Kingman answered with a five run third to lead 12-5.  Kingman added three in the fifth for the run rule.  Haiden Lyon was 2-3 with a double.  Allie Champion had three RBI’s.

Liberal is 2-2 and hosts Hays at about 6pm on Thursday night.
