The Liberal City Commission met Tuesday evening and in first order of new business, approved Resolution No. 2464 to adopt the 2027 Fiscal Year Budget and to appropriate, by
fund, the maximum amounts to be expended for the Budget Year 2027.
Commissioners took no action of Resolution No. 2463, authorizing application submission for the Kansas Tourism Department’s Attraction Development Grant.
Next, the Commission approved Resolution No. 2465, supporting the application of a Kansas Water Office Grant. If awarded this would help the City to obtain the up-front technical assistance and
the on-the-ground actions needed to address various water quantity and quality needs.
For the Fire Department, Commissioners approved the purchase five sets of protective clothing from MES in the amount of $16,664.85 and accepted the low bid from Brown’s Furniture in an amount not to exceed $12,750.00 to replace all the current flooring in the Tourist Information Center with vinyl tile.
Using donated funds, The Commissioners approved the purchase of four Nevco Model 1650 scoreboards at a total cost of $15,194.09, for the Recreation Department, and gave approval of the Placer.ai amendment to the Order Form executed through the Seward County Development Corporation, with the City of Liberal paying the annual licensing fee of $19,278.00.
The City Commissioners also approved the most current City Connecting Link Agreements with KDOT.
