LIBERAL, Kan. – Southwest Medical Center (SWMC) is making preventive healthcare more accessible than ever with a major price reduction for its 17th Annual Community Health Fair, taking place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Seward County Activity Center.
In an effort to remove financial barriers and help more residents prioritize their health, SWMC has expanded its general lab testing package and reduced the cost of additional screenings. Tests that previously could cost participants around $70 are now available for just $40 when all available screenings are completed.
The goal is simple: make quality preventive healthcare affordable for everyone in Southwest Kansas, especially in a community where many residents face challenges accessing healthcare due to lack of insurance.
The general lab package is now available for $35 and includes:
- Comprehensive Metabolic Profile (CMP)
- Lipid Profile
- Thyroid Screen
- Complete Blood Count (CBC)
- Vitamin Panel (Vitamin D & B12)
- Hemoglobin A1C
- Magnesium
Additional cancer screenings are now only $5 each:
- PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) – Men
- CEA (Carcinoembryonic Antigen) – Women
Participants can receive the complete package of available testing for only $40.
“Preventive healthcare should not be out of reach because of cost,” said Janeth Vazquez, Director of Marketing and Business Development at Southwest Medical Center. “We know Southwest Kansas has a large uninsured population, and we are committed to finding ways to make these important screenings more affordable. By lowering prices and adding more included testing, we hope more people will take advantage of this opportunity to learn about their health.”
Seward County continues to have one of the highest uninsured rates in Kansas, making affordable screenings and early detection opportunities especially important for local families.
In addition to affordable lab testing, attendees will have access to a variety of free health screenings and services, including:
- Blood Pressure Checks
- Clinical Breast Exams
- Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Consultations
- Spirometry Testing
- Pulse Oximetry
- Vision Screening & Field of Vision Tests
- Blood Sugar Testing
- Skin and Oral Cancer Screenings
- Physical Therapy Evaluations
- Surgery Checkups (lumps, bumps, and hernias)
- Physicals
Local businesses, healthcare organizations, nonprofits, and community partners are invited to participate. Booth spaces will be available for organizations interested in sharing resources, providing education, and connecting with community members.
