Wind Farm Projects Picking Up In Western Kansas

KSCB News - February 27, 2012 3:49 pm

Construction is well underway for a wind farm in Western Kansas.

Infinity Wind Power said the Shooting Star Wind Project is expected to be complete later this year.

The 104-megawatt farm is located near Mullinville, in Kiowa County. It is the company’s second project in western Kansas.

Matt Riley, Infinity Wind Power CEO, said the wind industry brings big business to Kansas.

“We are quite pleased that the communities of western Kansas are benefiting from the significant investment the wind industry has made in the state,” Riley said.

He said the Sunflower State has received more than $3 billion in total investments in 2012.
