USD 480 Board Meets Approves Board to Serve Until January 13th

The USD 480 Board of Education met on Monday evening December the 9th with several items up for consideration. The first item the Board  considered was the January 6th Board of Education meeting. According to State Statute 25-2023, the term of office of each board member shall commence on the second Monday in January following the election.

Since the first board meeting in January is on the first Monday not the second Monday. The USD 480 Board approved that the current members to serve until January 13th.

Health insurance was also on the agenda. USD 480 has used IMA for the health insurance consultant for the past 5 years. The Board of Education approved continuing with
IMA with a flat fee $50,000 per year.

An HVAC Service contract was approved with JCI of Wichita, KS in the amount of $278,155, which includes controls services.

Policy revisions were reviewed by the Board as was the 2020/2021 School calendar.
Additions to the calendar is a Teacher Workday, December 18th, with deletions to include Presidents Day, February 15th. School will be in session and no professional learning day in April. Liberal High School has also requested that graduation be moved to Sunday afternoon rather than Saturday morning.
