USD 480 Board Meets, Approves Hiring Director of Secondary Education

The USD 489 Board of Education met Monday Evening at 6:30pm and after approving the consent agenda which included overnight trips and the Employment/Retirement/Resignations/Transfers tackled New Business for the district.

After discussion of additional Coaches for Wrestling, the Board approved staff to seek additional coaches for the Wrestling Program, then the board would visit the paying of the additional personnel.

The Board also approved the purchase of new software which would aid and greatly improve the Chromebook Check In/Out System and also give a better accounting of the inventory of the Chromebooks.

Approved also was the purchase of furnace filters for the District from Fastenal of Liberal who was the low bidder.

After an Executive Session, the Board added an Employment item to the agenda then approved the hiring of Joel Applegate to the position of Director of Secondary Education.
