US 83 Shifts to New Alignment in Haskell County

Joe Denoyer - July 24, 2017 8:12 pm

Construction continues on the US-83 expansion project in Haskell County. The project includes rebuilding six miles of U.S. 83 in Haskell County, replacing the U.S. 83/160/K-144 junction with the new interchange to the east of the existing road and adding passing lanes along the six-mile segment. While work continues on this project, traffic will shift to the newly completed roadway on Tuesday, July 25.

Venture Corporation of Great Bend is the primary contractor on this $22.3 million project which is expected to be completed by December 2017 weather permitting. KDOT urges drivers to be alert, pay attention to all work zone warning signs, slow down when approaching a work zone and be prepared to stop.

For more information on this project, please call Greg Adams, Construction Engineer, at 620-629-5797 or Lisa Knoll, KDOT District 6 Public Affairs Manager, at 620-765-7080.
