Topeka West Runs Past Redskins

Brock Kappelmann - February 27, 2018 9:07 pm

The Topeka West Chargers took out years of frustration on the visiting Liberal Redskins Tuesday night. The fifth seeded Chargers ran past the twelfth seeded Redskins 83-58 Tuesday night at the Charger Dome in Topeka.  One year removed from being 6-15 and two years removed from being 2-19, Topeka West is 15-6.

Buoyed by an electric home crowd, Topeka West jumped out to a 19-10 lead after one quarter and 38-19 at halftime. The Chargers made 9-22 three pointers while Liberal was 3-16 from three point land. LHS was 5-10 at the free throw line.

Tristen Bigham scored 18 in the loss while Kace Vongsakda had 11, Cameron Riley had nine, Ethan and Lee Hatcher had seven apiece.

Liberal deops their third consecutive post season game and finishes 8-13. West is 15-6.
