Football

7th

Horace Good 14 South 12

7th grade football kicked off their home opener on Thursday against Garden
City Horace Good. The Apaches got off to a bad start when they fumbled the
first play of the game. Horace Good would capitalize and score on their
first possession to go up 6-0. The Apaches would then fumble on their next
drive and HG would recover in the end zone and the 2 point conversion made
it 14-0 with about 4 minutes off the clock in the first quarter. South
settled in the second quarter and scored a touchdown before half. They
would come out in the second half and recover a fumble on the first
possession. Caesar De La Cruz capitalized on the possession with a 30 yard
run for a score. South could not convert on the 2 point conversion and
that left the score 14-12. That would end up being the final score in a
tough lost for the seventh grade.

Volleyball

Here are south 8 grade vb scores from Thursday. South B team lost to Horace good 4-15 ,5-15. Then lost to Kenneth Henderson 6-15,14-16,14-16. B team record is 3-3. The A team lost to Horace good 15-21,10-12. Then lost to Kenneth Henderson 12-21,19-21. A team is now 4-2. Next game sat at South for tournament.
