Three Racers Now In The International Pancake Race

As of Tuesday afternoon, The International Pancake Day Race, slated for Mar. 8, has three contestants, including veteran racer Mikayla Knudsen, 21, who will be competing for the fourth time this year. Other contestants so far are first-time racers Misty Vaught, 35, and Nicole Schowengerdt, 28.
Race sign-ups for all ages continue through Feb. 26, but women who sign up this week for the International Race are eligible for free work-outs at the Wellness Center at Seward Community College/Area Technical School.
The International Race pits the women of Liberal, Kansas, against the ladies of Olney, England. This race is limited to women age 18 or older with a Liberal address who have “domestic duties.” (High school students who are 18 should enter the youth division.)

Entries are still being accepted for the Pancake Day parade and the cooking contest, and tickets are on sale at the Tourist Information Center for the talent show and the Christian Artist Showcase.
For more information on any event, call 620-624-6423, or stop by the Tourist Information Center, One Yellow Brick Road, across from the Coronado Museum. Hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturdays.
