Supreme Court Files Decision In Hugoton Gas Field Case

At the Supreme Court, regarding Appeal No. 103,310: Gilbert H. Coulter and Elizabeth S. Leighnor et al. v. Anadarko Petroleum Corporation v. Stan R. Boles et al. , the High Cort is affirming the settlement of a class action lawsuit that was filed in 1998 on behalf 6,000 royalty owners of natural gas rights in the huge Hugoton gas field in southwest Kansas. All members of the class, except Boles, and Anadarko agreed to the settlement, which include an initial $33 million payment and increased future benefits to the royalty owners.
