Student Wins At KAH Conference

KSCB News - May 15, 2015 8:14 am

Seward County Community College/Area Technical School social science instructor Gary Damron took three students to Emporia for the Kansas Association of Historians April 18 and 19. Students were invited because of their class performance and interest in history.
SCCC/ATS student Rachel Coleman submitted and presented a paper entitled “Division and Unification: Response to Communism in Korea and Germany.“ Coleman received the only award given this year in any category. Her paper was selected in the undergraduate category for projects presented as one of several activities in a course.

"The committee selection was unanimous and she did an excellent job in her oral presentation and discussion afterward,” said Damron. “All three of our students represented us well and enjoyed the conference. ”

Damron was also elected to serve another term on the KAH executive committee.
