Sporting News Tabs Seward Guard a Super Sophomore

KSCB News - September 20, 2011 6:59 am

Following a freshman season in which he averaged 14
points and 4 steals per game at Western Texas College, new Seward County
Saints transfer guard Deverell Biggs has been named to The Sporting
News "Super Sophs" 2nd Team. The magazines list recognizing the top
junior college sophomores from around the country had Biggs as the top
second year player in the Jayhawk Conference as he landed on the 2nd
Team, while Anthony Criswell of Independence and Geron Johnson of Garden
City were also named in the report on the 3rd Team. Biggs is expected
to make a splash this season at Seward after playing for the Westerners
and new Saints assistant Jason Sautter last season. The 6'0 sophomore
guard from Omaha was a game changer in his first collegiate season for
Western Texas, putting up games of 31, 25 and 24 against some of the top
competition in the country playing in the WJCAC.
