Sleepy Driver Injured in a One Vehicle Accident

A one vehicle accident occured Sunday morning at approximately 2:15am a tenth of a mile east of Guymon on US Highway 412.

A 2016 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by Braiden Mark Barnes, age 26, of Moore, Oklahoma was westbound on US412, when he apparently fell asleep and crossed the centerline before departing the roadway to the left.

The pick up then entered the south side ditch and ramped up a culvert, then rolled one time before coming to rest in the south ditch on its top facing east.

The driver was pinned for approximately forty-five minutes and was freed by the Guymon Fire Department and then air lifted by Apollo to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. He was admitted for trunk internal and trunk external injuries. He was listed in stable condition .
