Skins and Lady Skins Struggle in Losses at Dodge

The Dodge City Demons were simply to much for the Liberal Redskins Friday night in Dodge as the Demons won 68-46.

Dodge led 15-10 after one quarter, and 31-15 at halftime. Jade Cathey led Liberal in the loss with 15 points.

The Demons win the WAC finishing 7-1 in conference play. They finish the regular season at 17-3 overall. The Skins finish WAC play at 2-6. Liberal is 11-9 overall and are tied with Winfield for the three and four seed for Sub-State. There will be a coin flip on Saturday to determine the seeding.

The Skins will host an opponent to be named after the coin flip. The game will be at the ‘Big House’ on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

It was a tough night for the Liberal Lady Redskins Friday in Dodge City as the Lady Demons won 58-35.

Dodge jumped out to a 14-8 lead after one quarter, and then caught fire in the second quarter outscoring Liberal 17-2 to lead 31-10 at halftime.

Justice Norah led the Lady Skins in scoring with 13 points in the loss. Kayla Payton added nine points.

The Lady Demons finish their regular season at 17-3 overall, and 8-0 in the WAC. Liberal concludes their regular season at 11-9 overall, and 2-6 in the WAC.

The Lady Skins will host Winfield in the first round of Sub-State on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Texhoma and Tuprin will meet Saturday at 8 p.m for a fifth time this year for the right to go to state. The two have split the previous four meetings.
