Six Area Teens Injured in Morton County Crash

Six area teens are hospitalized after an early morning rollover in Morton County. Four teens are from Moscow and two from Johnson. The incident took place at about 12:45 Monday morning. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports 18 year old Mathew Pearson on Moscow was driving west on Morton County Road Z from Road 24. The vehicle veered off the left side of the road and traveled into a field where the driver lost control. The vehicle rolled and came to rest on its wheels. Pearson and his five occupants were taken to the hospital. His passengers were: 18 year old Jorge Araiza of Moscow, 15 year old Mia Miranda of Johnson, 17 year old Paloma Moran of Moscow, 16 year old Alejandra Moran of Moscow, and 15 year old Vianney Sierra of Johnson wre injured. Miranda was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita and Sierra was taken to Morton County Hospital while Araiza, both Morans, and Pearson were taken to Stevens County Hospital.
