Seward County Fair Queen Candidates Announced

SOROPTIMIST CLUB FIVE STATE FAIR QUEEN CONTESTANTS

The Soroptimist Club of Liberal is proud to announce that we have 2 contestants vying

for the Five State Fair Queen, which will be crowned on August 19

th

at the Seward

County Fair. The get-acquainted party was held in their honor at the Depot on July

21

st

. The money raised from this contest is used for scholarships for students from

this area and is tax deductible. Our contestants are as follows:

FAITH MILLER

Faith is the daughter of Michael and Christina Miller and is a Freshman at Liberal High

School. She enjoys volleyball, soccer, baking, volunteering, working as Dorothy and

hanging out with friends and family. While at Liberal High School, Faith will be taking

college prep classes. After high school, she wants to go to Business School and Culinary

School and hopes to open her own bakery one day. While in high school, Faith is

involved in student council, volleyball, soccer, is a library aid and hopes to be manager

for the basketball team. Faith volunteers at Stepping Stone Shelter, her youth group and

Dorothy’s House where she gives tours and supervises the gift shop.

Faith has entered the Five State Fair Queen competition to be an active part of her

community and feels like this will be an enjoyable experience.

Faith will be having multiple bake sales, farmer’s markets and various other activities.

JORDAN URBAN

Jordan is the daughter of Brian and Stephanie Urban and is a senior at Liberal High

School. She enjoys singing, cheer, softball and baking. While at Liberal High School,

Jordan has taken several AP and Honors classes. Her future education plans are to study

Interior Design. While in high school, Jordan has participated in StuCo, FBLA, Key

Club, NHS, Yearbook, Cheer, Softball and the Prom Committee.

Jordan has participated in American Kids. She has been singing since the age of 5 and

participated in many competitions. She most recently won 93.7’s local competition of the

Texaco Country Showdown in Salina, KS. She will be moving on to State Finals in

Goodland on the 6

th

of August. Jordan has played softball since she 5

th

grade in both

school and summer leagues. She has cheered for five years, two years on varsity. Jordan

works in the concession stand at Adventure Bay Water Park.

Jordan has entered the Five State Fair Queen competition because she has been involved

in 4-H and have always been involved with the fair.

Faith will be selling food Thursday night at the Downtown event in Liberal, Friday

morning during Bazaar Days, as well as other food and meal items, baked goods, raffle

and various other items.
