Seward County Crash Injures Meade Man

A Meade man was injured after a crash Monday evening east of Liberal. Fifty-four year old Erasmo Vergara was driving a 2001 Oldsmobile west on Highway 54 six miles east of Liberal. He was following a semi. The semi slowed and began turning north onto Seward County Road O. Vergara was following too closely and swerved onto the shoulder to avoid a collision and crashed into the side of the semi. Vergara was taken to Southwest Medical Center with injuries. The crash occurred Monday evening at about 5 p.m.
