Seward County Commission Meets, Approves New Event Center Doors

The Seward County Commission met on Monday evening at 5:30 pm and among the items on the agenda was new doors for the Event Center. The Commission approved the purchase new doors for the Event Center from Southwest Glass and Door of Liberal in the amount of $7,300.00

Transfer switches for the City of Kismet were also approved in the amount of $1,850.00, and B&H Paving of Scott City was awarded the bed for road sealing in Seward County in the amount of $257,641.00.

Discussion was held on Fireworks in Seward County with the County ban on Fireworks only applying to the Unincorporated areas of Seward County with the City of Kismet and Liberal addressing the matter on an individual basis.

The Commission approved the Kansas WorkforceOne Agreement, and after an executive session, ratified the contract between the Seward County Landfill and Joy Blasi for the purchase of 118 acres in the amount of $118,300.00.
