Sanitation Truck Rolls, Injures Driver

On Thursday morning at 8:50am, a 2007 Freightliner Sanitation truck was eastbound on K51 when the driver, Wayne Gerrard, 44, of Liberal, attempted to turn South on to US Highway 83 when his wheels went off the roadway. Gerrard overcorrected the vehicle which then rolled over. Gerrard was transported to Southwest Medical Center to be treated for his injuries. He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.
