Saints will stay at home for first round of Region 6

Thursday, February 26, 2009 Saints Clinch Homecourt in Region 6 Opener Seward County beat Garden City 76-67 last night in the Green House. Seward takes over third place with a 9-6 Jayhawk West record. Garden City led 32-31 at halftime and 45-40 with 13:48 to play before the Saints reeled off a 13-2 run to lead 53-47 with 8:40 to go. Seward led by 13 three times including 70-57 with 2:30 to play. Thijin Moses hit six three pointers, scored 23 points, and grabbed six rebounds. Marcus James added 16 points and nine rebounds. Tony Smith added 14 points and nine assists. The Saints improve to 22-7 overall while the Broncbusters fall to 18-11 overall and 8-7 in the Jayhawk West. Seward plays at second place Butler Saturday night at 7:30 on B107.5 and kscb.net. If the Saints win, they take second place.
