Saints Shoot Blanks in Loss

KSCB News - February 11, 2010 12:00 am

Seward shot 11 percent from three point range in a 76-67 loss to the Pratt Beavers (18-7, 7-4) in the Green House Wednesday night. Seward trailed early and often (12-2, 15-5, 21-10, 25-14, 29-18, 31-20) and trailed 33-26 at halftime. The Saints cut the Beaver lead to 33-31 three minutes into the second half but Pratt extended that lead to 41-33 and would go on to their biggest leads of 51-37 and 57-43. A furious Saint rally cut the lead to four (69-65) late in the game but Seward couldn’t get over the hump. Seward head coach Bryan Zollinger says it comes down to putting the ball in the hole. “I’m sure they’re all frustrated,” Zollinger said. “They all want to win. It’s not like they aren’t trying. It comes down to poor shooting. We spend hours and hours and hours on shooting and last time we shoot 12 percent from three and this time we shoot 11 percent from three.” The Saints travel to fifth place Cloud County Saturday for an 8 PM game on B107.5 and kscbnews.net.
