Saints Rally Past Neosho

KSCB News - January 3, 2011 6:45 am

The Seward County Saints may have played their best basketball of the season Saturday in a win over ninth ranked Missouri-West Plains. They led by as many as 22 in that win. Sunday, the Saints were a bit sluggish to begin the game but came back and beat Neosho County on their home court in Panther Gym in Chanute 103-91. Seward trailed 56-46 at the half against a team Seward defeated the Panthers 102-59 in Liberal November 6. After shooting 54 percent Saturday, Seward sizzled the nets Sunday making 59 percent of their shots. Seward made 10-18 three pointers in the win. Neosho made 52 percent of their shots and 47 percent of their 3’s.

Jeremy Jones backed up a 24 point performance Saturday with a 32 point game Sunday. Rafriel Guthrie added 19 and Phil Hawkins dropped in 17. The Saints are 12-2 heading into their showdown with #2 Hutchinson in the Hutchinson Sports Arena Wednesday night at 7:30. The game will air on B107.5 and kscbnews.net.
