Road Work In Morton County To Resume

KSCB News - June 18, 2012 8:31 am

The Kansas Department of Transportation expects a resurfacing project on K-27 in Morton County to resume on Monday, June 18, weather permitting. The project runs from the south junction of K-27 and K-51 to the north junction, a distance of about 14 miles. This second phase of the project will be a chip seal.

During construction, traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work zone, guided by a pilot car. Drivers can expect delays of 15 minutes or less. The Kansas DOT urges drivers to be alert, pay attention to all work zone warning signs, slow down and be prepared to stop. There will also be an 11-foot lane width restriction through the work zone. Anyone hauling a wide load should plan to detour around this portion of K-27 during construction.

KDOT expects work on this project to be completed by the end of the week, depending on weather. You can stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas at www.kandrive.org or by calling 5-1-1.

Dustrol, Inc., of Towanda, Kansas, is the contractor on this approximately $1.6 million T-WORKS preservation project
