Redskins Take Cliff Hanging WAC Title

KSCB News - October 21, 2011 6:42 am

The Liberal Redskins won the WAC when Eduardo Moreno found the back of the net 2:22 into overtime. The #3 Redskins and Dodge City Red Demons (12-4) played for what amounted to a WAC title Thursday night in front of a big Redskin Field crowd. The teams played to a 0-0 tie after regulation. The win makes the Redskins 11-5 and 6-2 in the WAC. They win the conference in soccer for the 11th consecutive season. Liberal hosts a playoff game Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at Redskin Field against Ark City. If Liberal wins, their likely opponent would be Andover Central Thursday night at 6 p.m. at Redskin Field and the Gary Cornelsen Sports Complex.
