Redskins Split Final Day at Alva

The Liberal baseball team won a game and lost a game in Alva Friday morning and afternoon.  The Redskins lost 8-1 to Alva before defeating Blackwell 18-1.

The Skins began the day with a 10 a.m. start against Alva.  After both teams scored in the first inning, LHS did not scored again and only had two hits.  The Goldbugs had three in the third and four in the sixth.  Liberal also committed four errors.  Javier Bojorquez pitched four innings allowing just one earned run.  Elijah McCarter was 1-2 and scored Liberal’s run.

The Redskins broke out in game two against Blackwell with 10 in the first, four in the second and third innings.  Max Valles pitched three hitless innings striking out five.  LHS did not allow a hit but walked six.  Cesar Burciaga was 3-4 with five RBI’s.  McCarter scored three runs.

Liberal is 10-2 and hosts the Dodge City Red Demons Tuesday at 4 at the National Beef Family Sports Complex.  The game airs on 1270 and kscbnews.net with Redskin Pre-game at 3:45.
