Redskin Runners Bounce Back at Huge Hesston Meet

This was the largest Hesston Meet ever, They had 46 teams and over 1,000 runners.
This meet is scored a little differently than most meets. Runners only run against other runners their grade level, so there were a total of 8 races. Team scores were kept by the top 5 scores on the girls side, and then top 7 places on the boys side.

Liberal girls did not place as a team but did have two girls medal.
Mercy Perez placed 18th in the girls 4-5-6 A Junior Division
Destyni Lucero placed 5th in the girls 4-5-6 A Senior Division

The LHS Boys finished in third place!
1st place – Bishop Carrol – Ranked number one in the state 5A
2nd place – Wichita-Kapaun Mount Carmel -Ranked 3rd in the state 5A
3rd Place – Liberal – Ranked 5th in the state 5A

12 of the teams participating on the boys side are ranked in the state in 4A, 5A, or 6A.

LHS Boys had 9 runners medal.

Emilio Tovilla placed 8th in the 4-5-6 A Freshman Division
Greg McClurg placed 10th in the 4-5-6 A Freshman Division
Alex Chance placed 13th in the 4-5-6 A Freshman Division
Obed Quintana placed 6th in the 4-5-6 A Sophomore Division
Luis Medina placed 17th in the 4-5-6 A Sophomore Division
Angel Viveros placed 4th in the 4-5-6 A Junior Division
Sammy Obando placed 8th in the 4-5-6 A Junior Division
Erving Altamirano placed 18th in the 4-5-6 A Junior Division
Daniel Frazier placed 11th in the 4-5-6 A Senior Division
