Redskin Baseball Splits with Hays

The Liberal High School baseball team split a doubleheader at Hays on Thursday. The Redskins won game one 3-1. Brandon Granger pitched a complete game giving up just three hits and striking out five. Jose Pondo was 3-4 from the plate. It is believed to be Liberal’s first win over Hays in baseball since 1999. The Skins’ dropped the second game 9-2. Liberal is now 4-3 overall and 1-3 in the Western Athletic Conference. They will play a doubleheader in Hugoton on Monday at 4 p.m.
