Rally In Garden City Continues Fight Against AZ Immigration Law

A rally in Garden City, Kansas drew several hundred people Saturday to protest Arizona’s newly passed immigration law.

Garden City has a large population of Spanish-speaking citizens and organizers of Kansas United Corp., a Wichita-based non-profit group, say their goal is to let those in the Hispanic community know they have rights.

Jesus Diaz, president of Garden City’s Hispanics United, tells KAKE News his group will continue holding protests until the law in Arizona is repealed. The law in that state allows police to ask anyone they find suspicious of being an illegal immigrant for proof of their immigration status.

Diaz says the law is unconstitutional.
