Polls Will Open on Tuesday Aug. 1st For City Commission Primary

Polls for Tuesdays City Commission primary election will open at 7:00am and remain open until 7:00pm. Thirteen candidates are vying for the 3 open positions on the Liberal City Commission. After the Primary, 6 candidates will be left for the General Election that will be held on November 7th. The 3 top vote getters in November will take office in January with the top 2 getting 4 year terms and the 3rd place candidate getting a 2 year term. Candidates running for the office of City Commission are Gary Andrews, Dean Aragon, Chris Carlile, Travis Combs, Taylor Harden, Dave Harrison, Dale Harrold, Jimmy Holman, Rick Rose, Connie Seigrist, Andy Stewart, Justin Varnes and Ron Warren. Voting will take place at the Seward County Activity Center.
