Parsons for the Course

Summer Parsons wins the Liberal wing of the International Pancake Day Race. The 25 year old PE teacher at Garfield Elementary and Lady Redskin assistant basketball coach wins the race in :63.5. Olney’s time is not known yet. Parsons won the race on a damp course but on a sunny day with temperatures in the low 40’s. Destyni Lucero placed second and Lakeria Eatmon came in third. Lucero is a 19 year old planning to join the marines while Eatmon is a 20 year old student at SCCC/ATS. The other runnners were Tessy Barnett, Hannah Belton, Brooke Buchman, Sandra Nash, and Rene Boaldin. Miss Liberal, Emily Bayouth was an honorary runner.

Olney’s Devon Byrne set the record with a time of :55.6 in Olney. Olney has won three straight years.
