Ronald ” Ron” Nicholas Tatro

Ronald ” Ron” Nicholas Tatro, 69, of Liberal, passed away on Tuesday April 9, 2019 at his home.

He was born on February 11, 1950 to Paul and Alice (Bayer) Tatro at Garden City, KS.

Ron was a graduate of Satanta High School; class of 1968. He then went on to attend the Diesel Mechanics program at the Liberal Area VoTech; class of 1970. Ron enlisted into the US Navy where he served in Okinawi Japan and Diego Garcia as a Navy Seabee. Upon returning to the states he went to work as a Truck Driver, working for many trucking companies including Koch Oil Industries and Brady Fluid Services; retiring in 2015. Ron enjoyed attending car shows, drag races, fishing, working on cars, attending singles seniors dances, drinking coffee at the local breakfast spots and supporting his grandchildren with their sporting events. He was a member of VFW Liberal #3166 and was also a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church of Liberal.

Ronald is survived by Son, Shawn Tatro and Fiance Amy of Amarillo, TX; Three Daughters, Tracey Martin and husband Tank of Liberal, KS, Misty Freeman and husband Chris of Liberal, KS, Rebecca Duque and husband Libra of Liberal, KS; Two Brothers, Charles Tatro and wife Karen of Strafford, MO, Randy Tatro and wife Lisa of Meade, KS; Three Sisters, Rita Dennis and companion Bob of Guymon, OK; Rose Crum and husband Mike of Sublette, KS; Ruth Mann and husband Lee of Satanta, KS; Nine Grandchildren and Nine Great-Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Charles Dennis.

Viewing will be 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm Thursday, April 11, 2019, at Miller Mortuary, Liberal, KS.

Rosary will be at 7:00 pm Thursday, April 11, 2019, at Miller Mortuary, Liberal, KS.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Friday, April 12, 2019, at the St Alphonsus Catholic Church in Satanta, KS.

Burial will follow in the Dudley Township Cemetery.
