Patricia Mae Tangney

Patricia Mae Tangney, age 68, died Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Morton County Hospital, Elkhart, Kansas. She was born September 4, 1942 at Powell, Wyoming the daughter of Bufford W. and Nellie Katherine (Price) Sanders.

Patricia attended school in Byron, Wyoming and Roundup, Montana. On August 31, 1957 she married John Lawrence Tangney at Roundup, Montana. She moved to Morton County in 1961 where she was a waitress and a homemaker. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, First Church of God, Women of First Church of God, and Eva Friends Club. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, sewing, going to garage sales and auctions, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Randy Tangney of Elkhart, Kansas; one daughter, Kathy Thiel and husband Brad of San Diego, California; two sisters, Debby Worth and husband Virgil of Elkhart, Kansas, Peggy Sanders of Gillette, Wyoming; step-mother, Annalou Sanders; four half sisters, Debbie Kay TeWinkle, Sherry Sanders, Mary Thomas, Jody Williams all of Southern California, two step brothers, Richard Pemberton and wife Stacy of Kingman, Arizona, Doug Pemberton and wife Ann of Anadarko, Oklahoma; two step-sisters, Nita Mohler and husband John, Nancy Akana both of Southern California, four grandchildren, John Tangney of Clearfield, Utah, Kristin Jenkins and husband Greg, Rachelle Tangney, Jamie Tangney all of Elkhart, Kansas; two great-grandchildren, Bailee and Davin Jenkins both of Elkhart, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Lawrence Tangney in 1971, one son, Bart Tangney in 1993, two brothers, Art Sanders, Ricky Sanders, one half-brother, Dugan Sanders.

Memorial service will be held 2:30 PM, Friday, April 8, 2011 at First Church of God, Elkhart, Kansas with Reverend Gary Murrell officiating. There will be no public visitation. Memorials may be given to Eva Community Center or Women of First Church of God both in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 854, Elkhart, Kansas 67950.
