Marjorie L. Pister

Marjorie L. Pister, age 65, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.  Shewas born April 23, 1953, in Harvey, North Dakota, the daughterof Theodore and Genevieve (Muscha) Otto.

 

Marjorie married Roger Pister on March 16, 1972.  They moved to Ulysses in 1981.  Marjorie led a full life.  She was a jack-of-all-trades and worked many jobs including several departments at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital, also Stanfield Printing Co., and worked as the District Manager for Hutchinson News.  She was very artistic and enjoyed painting, building furniture, and sewing.  Marjorie also was an accomplished cook, baker, and upholsterer.  She loved spending time with her grandkids, and enjoyed taking them camping and fishing, and watching anime movies.

 

She is survived by her sons, Rodger Pister and Elizabeth Schlesener of Garden City, Kansas, and Darrick Pister wife Johanna Chambers of Vista, California; daughters, Elizabeth Andazola and Chris Watkins of Syracuse, Kansas, and Angela Orosco of Ulysses, Kansas; sisters, Sharon Tafelmyer of Sawyer, North Dakota, Mary Martwick of Garden City, Kansas, Judith Grenz of Dothan, Alabama, Lorraine O’Shea of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and Susan Otto of Devils Lake, North Dakota; seven grandchildren, Danielle Orosco, Otto Orosco, Bailey Orosco, Zoe Andazola, Sydnie Andazola, Merceds Andazola, and Rylie Andazola; and her ride or die soul sister, Sue Castaneira and husband Esteban of Lacrosse, Kansas.  

 

Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger in 2001; brother, Gary Otto; and son-in-law, Lee Orosco.

 

Memorial service will be Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses.  Memorial contributions may be given to Loaves and Fishes in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS  67880.  Condolences may be posted at www.garnandfuneralhomes.com.
